About Miniconda (Python 3.13)
**This is a community-maintained package.** It is not maintained by or affiliated with Anaconda, Inc.
Conda is a cross-platform, Python-agnostic binary package manager. Miniconda is the minimal distribution that ships conda and Python and nothing else, so you build the environment you want rather than removing what you do not.
This package downloads Anaconda's official Windows x86_64 installer at install time directly from repo.anaconda.com, verifies it against the SHA256 Anaconda publishes beside the file, and installs it silently.
By default, this installation:
* will not add miniconda python to path,
* will register miniconda python as the default python3
* will install for all users
* will install in your `$ToolsDir\miniconda3` (`$ToolsDir` is the path returned by `Get-ToolsLocation`) default is `C:\Tools\`
You can provide parameters for the install. Example: `choco install miniconda3 --params="'/AddToPath:1'"`
* /InstallationType:[AllUsers|JustMe]
* /AddToPath:[0|1]
* /RegisterPython:[0|1]
* /D:(installation path)
* /Force
**Upgrading replaces the installation.** Miniconda's installer will not write over an existing one, so an upgrade removes it first. If the installation directory contains conda environments they would go with it, so the upgrade stops and lists them instead. Export or move those environments, or pass `/Force` to upgrade anyway. Environments kept outside the installation directory are unaffected.
**Anaconda Terms of Service.** Conda 26.x requires each user to accept Anaconda's Terms of Service for the `defaults` channels once after installing. Until accepted, `conda create`, `conda install`, and `conda update` fail with `CondaToSNonInteractiveError`. Run these three commands once:
```
conda tos accept --override-channels --channel https://repo.anaconda.com/pkgs/main
conda tos accept --override-channels --channel https://repo.anaconda.com/pkgs/r
conda tos accept --override-channels --channel https://repo.anaconda.com/pkgs/msys2
