About StyleCop
StyleCop analyzes C# source code to enforce a set of style and consistency rules. It can be run from inside of Visual Studio or integrated into an MSBuild project. StyleCop has also been integrated into many third-party development tools.
The package installs the standalone StyleCop binaries, an extension for Visual Studio 2008-2015 and an extension for ReSharper 8.2 or earlier.
**This is the last version of StyleCop published as an MSI installer.** Later StyleCop releases (5.x) provide separate packages for the Visual Studio extension ([stylecop-vsix](https://chocolatey.org/packages/stylecop-vsix)) and the ReSharper extension (installable from the ReSharper gallery).

How to install StyleCop
- Click Download — the developer's official website opens in a new tab.
- Download the latest version there and run it. Choose Custom/Advanced where offered, and skip any bundled extras.
- Prefer the command line? With Chocolatey you can install and update it with: choco install stylecop
- Open StyleCop once it finishes installing.
